Sedation Dentistry

Dental Sedation Therapy is the practice of making the patient either completely numb, or unconscious. We use Sedation Therapy on children who have extreme dental fears and phobia, so that your children can have the smile they deserve.

  •  Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) - Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. Nitrous Oxide is sometimes called "laughing gas."
  •  Light Sedation (Oral Conscious Sedation) - is a combination of medicines to help you relax (a sedative) and to block pain (an anesthetic) during a medical or dental procedure. You will probably stay awake but may not be able to speak
  •  Moderate Sedation (IV Sedation) - Under general anesthesia, you are completely unconscious and unable to feel pain during medical procedures. General anesthesia usually uses a combination of intravenous drugs and inhaled gasses (anesthetics). General anesthesia is more than just being asleep; the anesthetized brain doesn't respond to pain signals or reflexes.
  •  Hospital Dentistry: We also offer treatment in the hospital under general anesthesia. This is completed as an outpatient surgery, where your child can go home the same day. Dr. B is on staff at Texas Children's Hospital and West Houston Medical Center
